And the owner is....
We are "Stewards", not owners.
We must manage it all for the Owner. Stewardship!
Let's put on the "Stewardship" hat. Haggai 1:5 says we need to "consider" = review, check, think about, pray about, make sure what we do glorifies Him. After all, IT'S ALL His!
If He were standing next to us looking at our activities(or lack of) would we be embarrassed? What about our invested portfolios?
There is a diff in being a consumer of an item vs being a share holder of a company. I go to the store to buy veggies. Not to buy the alcohol or such. A stock owner is partner with and condones any management directives. Think on that.
So, if a company gains from or supports any immoral activity, a share holder is partner to it and further more condones it.
If a company supports or gains from: abortion, porn, nontraditional lifestyle, anti-family entertainment, alcohol, tobacco, gambling, even anti-human rights-these are NOT pleasing to God.
There was a "baby assessory" mfg that had their retirement plan reviewed. Over half was invested in the abortion industry. A correct example of "killing the market".
Likewise, many Christians that teach others to "not get that abortion, don;t look at porn, yet they own shares in the porn publisher or the company that supports "Pride week". etc.
Many denominational funds(403b) are not clean.
Being naive is NO excuse. If I were driving at a high rate of speed and a trooper stopped me then asked if I knew the speed limit? LOL, if I responded, "I don't know"
The trooper would rightfully say, "No excuse!"
This is not rocket science. Haggai 1:5
The earth is the LORD's, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.
Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.
'The silver is mine and the gold is mine,' declares the LORD Almighty.
